ABOUT MAH-JING WONG

Mah-Jing Wong is a Philadelphia-born fashion designer of Black and Chinese heritage whose work celebrates the beauty, strength, and sensuality of the female form. Known for his curve-hugging silhouettes and bold, provocative style, Mah-Jing brings a unique fusion of luxury and streetwear to the modern fashion landscape. His collections are deeply inspired by the vibrant energy of Japanese anime, often featuring vivid colors, daring prints, and a playful, sculptural focus on the human body.

Mah-Jing’s journey into fashion began at a young age, learning the fundamentals of sewing and pattern-making from his grandmother, who creatively cut patterns out of weekly newspapers. This early foundation sparked a lifelong passion for design and craftsmanship. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree in Fashion Design from the Art Institute of Philadelphia, where his talent and determination quickly set him apart.

While still in his senior year, Mah-Jing landed an internship with renowned designer Zac Posen—a pivotal experience that further fueled his ambition. In 2011, alongside his wife and creative partner Stacie Wong, he launched the Mah-Jing Wong brand. Since then, the label has become known for its daring aesthetics, empowering silhouettes, and the celebration of diverse beauty.

At the core of Mah-Jing’s creative philosophy is his faith. Guided by the motto “Be Diligent and Be Limitless,” he draws strength and inspiration from his relationship with Jesus, infusing his work with purpose, resilience, and fearless authenticity.
